THIS IS A SCAM. They're feigning to be tax debt relief representatives who will work on your behalf promising to help you settle your tax debt with the IRS. They are preying on the most vulnerable.
Here's the full message: "Hello, my name is Mary, yes. Hello, my name is Mary and I'm with the "Financial Relief Center" and I'm just reaching out to inform you of the recent lawsuit settlement in the news which now requires the IRS to settle all old tax debt that any U.S. resident currently has. What this means is your tax debt can now be forced into a settlement on your behalf, which will reduce or eliminate altogether your tax debt; so give us a call back and an agent can get you enrolled into this "special release program": my call back number is 866-877-0563. I truly want to help you, talk to you soon."
"Financial Relief Center"? "special release program"? give me a break. What trash.
Never respond to anyone unexpectedly calling you about tax debt relief, loan forgiveness, consolidated debt refinancing, or anyone claiming to be or to be fighting the IRS, or anything to do with student loans offered and administered by the U.S. government. 98% probability that they're scams.
