This is a scammer. They are using social media, hacking into peoples accounts and then contacting friends/family asking for help whilst impersonating someone you know. Once the scammer has you hooked to help, they will attempt to login to your own account through use of the forgot password feature to then have the code sent to you. They will ask for the code which will allow them into your account, they will remove the 2FA requirement and delete your number and replace theirs, then reactivate 2FA and remove your email address and change the password. Making for a long recovery process. But takes all of 3 minutes once you send them that code.

In this time between hacking and getting in, they will use what they can to gather information about you including name, email address, mobile phone number, linked apps and websites (think facebook, messenger, tiktok), mass download data to replicate accounts, see what kind of device you use...

Unfortunately, they are not using this number to contact people but it is the number being used to lockout the 2FA requirements.

This person hacked into my social media account and harassed the people I talked to.
