Received call from 0861461890 saying I'd made an ebay purchase on a temporary ebay account and giving me the option to call #1 for assistance. I then was connected to a male person with a heavy accent (Indian??) who wanted my details to confirm an ebay purchase of $100 that I was supposed to have made this morning (05 May 2021) - which I hadn't made. I insisted I wanted the 'purchase' cancelled as I'd not made the purchase. He said I had to complete a form with my details that he would send me so that I could authorise the cancellation!!

Was told by a recorded message that I made a $200+ purchase from Ebay. Given options to press to speak to Ebay customer service if I did not make purchase. Waited till recording ended and the call went out. How does Ebay even have my mobile number?
So called back the number, some guy with a heavy accent answered. Said you called Ebay and asked how he can help. I said, well you guys called me. Then he hung up. Local scammer.

I just received a scam? phone call saying that I had been charged $298 for an item which would be dispatched within 24 hours. If I did not place this order I was told to press #1 to speak to eBay customer service. I then hung up, but if I proceeded I have no doubt I would have been asked to provide paypal, credit card or other information. Please alert everyone to this scam. By the way - I DID NOT BUY ANYTHING OFF EBAY
